Chapter 7-8

Period 4 ONLY: THIS ACTIVITY WILL REPLACE YOUR DAILY READING PACKET ENTRY: DO NOT DO YOUR DRP FOR CHAPTER 7-8

Directions:

  • Take out a piece of folder paper.
  • Write the name of the people in your group at the very top of the folder paper.
  • Write your name, date, period, AND NUMBER on the top-right corner.
  • Copy all the Chapter 7-8 Guiding Questions, and leave at least 3 lines in between questions.
    • PLEASE RETURN THE PRINTED COPY.
  • You will be assigned a number from 1-5.
  • You must answer the question that matches your assigned number.
    • You are also responsible for recording your group member’s responses for the other questions.
  • You must read with your groups: read 1 page per person then rotate.

**IF YOUR GROUP MEMBERS ARE STUCK, YOU MUST HELP THEM RESPOND TO THE QUESTIONS. REMEMBER, THIS IS A GROUP ASSIGNMENT!**

Chapter 7-8 Guiding Questions

  1. What feelings do you think associate with flying?
  2. List and cite at least 5 phrases or sentences that demonstrate imagery.
  3. If Sue smells like a Campbell’s vegetable soup because she was sexy (63), what might be the scent of Zits previous foster homes or experiences?
  4. Zits think that the Indian camp is “a stinky Heaven” (65). What does this reveal about Zits’ tone at the end of the chapter?
  5. Alexie uses historical knowledge as part of the story (69): What did you learn about Native American history (regarding Custer)?

You must turn in your Chapter 7-8 Guiding Questions in the basket IN NUMERICAL ORDER by the END OF CLASS.
